A wonderful day in Texas

Well It was a sad day and a happy day! My beloved Aria 51 has been stripped of its Cattle. This land is leased land and the ranchers removed the herd a few days ago. I don't know how long I will continue to find Cubes and Copes but oh well I guess I will see. On the other hand this slot of protected land will continue to produce its other mushrooms that don't depend on Dung to survive. Then we have the photos below.I have been hunting a long time to stumble upon this nice haul
 Some nice Cubensis today.
Then a nice Cauliflower.
Two Lepiota one Yellow and one White.
And then a few others I just had to get

100% correct... Shapper and I saw the Flags and sticks.. BUT!! This land is kind of hrmm well "Flood Plane" and it will never be developed. What they are in the process of doing is building a long ass bike/hike trail.. If anything this will make it a bit easier to get out to my spot! Who has a good recipe for Chants...

I've never seen a yellow lepiota growing straight from a tree like that, though I do find them in mulch quite a bit. Fantastic pictures as always. You should have waited a couple of days to post them so you could win August's mush of the month pic.

Seriously. That is too bad about area 51 though and the cows being relocated. Hopefully you get out there and take lots of pictures before it drys up

That just a matter of time I'm sure. Perhaps when someone comes up with a good isolate of those prints you might have a strain with your name on it for everyone's micropsy pleasure.

What the hell is a chigger anyways? From what I gather it is flea on steroids. Maybe someone could start a chigger circus

Chiggers .. OK get ready I will give you a lil few tid bits! This is a Chigger. This is what they do to you! CHIGGERS>>> Caution Nakid Chick! They are a parasite that burrows its way down into hair follicles. They get all the way down to the bulbous bottom of your hair follicle and set up shop. They feed on the white blood cells that your body sends to get rod of them.. So they feed on bloody puss. They shit and eat and eat and shit.. All inside your body. The itch you get from a Chigger is tough to tell to someone who has never had a good case of them. Its a Deep inside your tissue itch.. Down to the bone..
Two years ago I took a vacation to my Buddy's place in Tenn. We floated the river and got all shit faced! I stepped out of the Canoe to take a piss in the woods. My shorts were wet and in My drunken stooper I dropped them top my feet! I'm Lucky I had some tighty whities on as the Chiggers all hopped in my shorts.. I pulled them up and brought a new bunch of foster children back up to a nice warm host/home.. That night I knew I was in trouble.. I ended up haveing to go to the hospital for a relaxant due to the itch!
The chiggers eventually suffocate and die off but the wound they leave and the scar that stays behind is a rude awakening that the woods can be a nasty nasty place to drop your shorts.. If I would have not had undies on the mess would have been much much worse..

I hate chiggers. I used to live in Missouri, and fishing is hand in hand with chiggers and seed ticks. Seed ticks suck ass too. (No pun intended)
