Hey is anyone out there going to be picking in north texas. Its been raining like hell here for about 5 days and humidity over 85% all week. might be a little cold but what the hell. if anyone else around me is going or has gone post and let me know whats up if you know anything. thanx

I'm also in northern Texas, the eastern part. I don't think there are many shrooms out in the western desert area of Texas; location is everything.
There's this rich fellow not far from where I live, who not only has cows, but herds of zebras and gazelles running around on his land. Anyone know anything about the coprophilous aspects of zebra dung?

yeah there has been a good bit of rain, and the soaked logs sitting on my 9 acres are fillin up w/ little shrooms, tomorrow should be a big harvest day.

I'm in north Texas as well. I went searching a couple of days ago with no luck..the rains continue today, so who knows what will be out there. I will probably go searching again here pretty soon and see what I can come up with.

well, I am here in lovely central texas. My boyfriend has been shroom hunting the last few days and little did I know that behind my house there is a whole world of shroomies waiting for us. We looked early yesterday and saw many different species and they were all small, so we are gonna look today , early. I can't wait. But I wondering if the nippy weather will prevent them rom growing as much, and is it possible ot eat them when they are still so young?

young specimens are preferable to aged for many reasons.
freshness, lack of parasites, etc.
what mushrooms are you referring to, though?
iin your backyard?
post some picks and descriptions at least, we'll help id.

Im also central and in the last 2 days i have found about.... 7 different species of mushrooms on my land, i will have pics up in a few days, im hoping some are the good kind.

hey yall, i've allways heard that your supposed to go huntin late at night, and that the light kills em, or decreases the potancy or something to that effect... is any of this at all true?? does it make any differnce weather i go huntin at day or night?? thank ya

Austin TX checking in here. my friend (hrmhrm) got plenty of shroomies this week. went out to the field 3 times this week and got about 5 oz dried. also got multiple strains at the field he goes to. he said he took spore syringes out to the field and injected the patties. any thoughts on this?
