No it doesn't make a bit of difference, they don't just magicaly disappear when the sun comes out, they're still there. Daytime hunting is easier and safer, if you've got permission

'm from san antonio too. I've never grown or found anything. If I didnt look at pictures all day, I'd swear they were myths... like that acid stuff : )

Yall must not be native Texans cause there has been no shrooms since the second week of november around Houston. If you live in the valley there might be some. The only thing yall might have some luck finding is Coplandias and you will need a lot of luck finding that species. Later.

I'm here in the DFW area of North Texas, but no shrooms found. Anyone in this state have any luck?

i don't really think there are any hot spots around D-town- head down south torward H-town or the latter- plenty of hot spots, but much too cold right now- wait till April, May.

I live in southern NM and was wondering.. If the temperatures are ideal, along with humidity, and the town I lived in was surrounded by cow farms, would I not have a chance of finding any specimens just because the climate here is usually dry and hot?

Yep, I'm with ya here in Texas but I haven't been able to go picking.  Seems all the fields I used to pick from in the H-Town area are now covered by buildings and parking lots!  :frown:  One of the disadvantages of getting older is watching all the fields get covered in cement.  I should go scouting for some new fields!!  Yeah that's the ticket!

Maybe I'll meet TxTek in one of the fields!  :wink:

Mr Mush is there any hard evidence to that or just educated speculation? I'm really tempted to go out and look, being there are ballfull of cow fields here.. but I don't wanna waste my time either if im ABSOLUTELY positive I wont find anythin.
