I live in central Texas. Hunting is pretty dry around this part of the state and I was concidering making a trip to the gulf this weekend, since it's labor day weekend, and having a couple of hunts and maybe some camping. Anyone know any good areas for hunting along the Texas Coast? I'm not asking for you to give away your feilds, you can be pretty general and vague I just need some direction. Also how have the conditions been in that part of the state recently? Good for hunting? Thanks for all your help.

Hey man you dont need specifics just look for the stoich fields and go trompin around! explore, adventure, and hopefully find some mushrooms =D
PS: On the real. dont ask for specifics, and dont bother asking for "general" locations becuase nobody can/will help you. Sorry if this sounds harsh, its just reality. Peace-

A couple weeks ago was the best time...it rained for a week straight and was around 72 at night...there were shrooms everywhere! I didnt have to opportunity to go get the good ones, but the common shrooms were all over the place...there has been the usual afternoon shower lately, so I would think the fields might be producing....I am in Metro Houston, so I dont get a chance to get to the outskirts often. Just be careful, the cops will be keeping their eye open for any suspicious activity more than usual this holiday weekend.
If you are in Central Texas, the drive to the coast should put you thru the heart of many pastures.

I wasn't even asking for anything specific in the way of actual areas, just relative distance from the coast and so forth, I'm not about to ask anything near specific enough to cause problems in any way shape or form. I would just hate to go all that way and come back empty handed, not that the trip wouldn't be awesome just for the experience and I don't exactly need much excuse to hit the road, but it would be a lot more enjoyable if my journey was fruitful.
