hey guys and gals....i went out hunttin the other day after it rained here in texas...sunday i think it was. I went out to this pasture that my brothers family owns and i was lookin around out there a found some shrooms. I was just wondering if these were cubies.
i know its not great....but i found them on some cow dung...and some others around some. They each had a blueish/purple area towards the bottom of the stem when i picked them. They have a goldish/brownish cap and the bigger one there is about the size of my thumb in length. I live about 2 hrs from the gulf and am just wondering if these are the kind that wont kill me. I didnt take a spore test...sorry. But those ones there are about 3 days old. The stem was pretty slick...wasnt rough at all...very smooth. and they smelled kinda like i would expect a mushroom to smell....kinda like the store bought ones??? man im a newbie. The stem was also kinda thick and sturdy. Thanks to anyone who can help...if u need more info tell me and i will post more...im stil tryin to figure out whats a good shroom and whats not. Thanks.

about the size of your finger nail. do a spore print if its black/purple and was growing from dung then you are set, and it bruised blue i dont think that there is any risk of him having the wrong shroom. anyone dissagree??

The mushrooms on the right look to be cubensis, but, its really hard to tell from a dried specimen, because many dried mushrooms look similar.
The white capped specimen on the left looks like it might be something else, but, it does too appear to have some bluing reaction on the base.
Do you remember if there was a veil (a collar-like flap of "skin") below the cap, attached to the stem?

notice that the left one is cracked i think that it may just be dryer than the rest and that is why it seems so much lighter. just my take either way i dont think hes in any danger of eating a poisonous mushroom if it came from dung and exibited bluing. right??
