Most of them look sporeless, the two larger ones we found are white on the gills.

A few days from now we will have bag loads of pics(maybe)!

THose are definitely cubes. They're beauts. I've got my finds from today on the dehydrator too. Been a month since I last tripped, and I think I may this weekend. Maybe. I'd like to dose shrooms with some E if possible.

Just out of curiosity, without the spores, how exactly are you identifying these as cubensis?

Not sure about his iamges as cubeas but here are three images of a sporeless cube find in the Na Muang rice paddies of Koh Samui, Thailand

And here is a picture of them picked and showing the gills, plus a light veil remnant on them.

And in this next image one can see a ligh blue tinge in the break in the stem on the right.

Man you can't mistake them they bruise blue and were found in cow dung and here in texas i have never seen any mushroom that grows out of dung come close to looking like a cube, this isnt the first ones i have found to be sporeless.

There are some shrooms that grow on dung in the LA/TX area that look a bit like cubes but are not. I have not identified them by name. They are smaller than most cubes but if you are finding lots of cubes they may end up in your batch if not careful.

I've found some that are reddish gold but are very similar looking to copes, also I have run across 1 or 2 that have more of a whitish flesh and also bruise blue but did'nt look anything like a cube nor was it growing in dung.It looked more like a bolete judging by the pics I have seen of the ones that bruise blue.
If I'm unsure of anything I toss it or leave it be.More people should do that especially around here.I know people who find shrooms growing in their yard and assume its going to make them trip, freakin retards.

Boletus have spongy bottoms and do not grow directly from manure. They are a wood loving mushroom.

Well i have seen some in the fields that look like cubensis but small with a light brown stem, from the top you first think the are cubes but they do not bruise blue the gills are brownish orange and the print is orange i can tell them from cubes when i pick them even when hunting at night now.
the only shrooms i have ever found in the cow dung that bruise blue are the cubes and copes i dont see how you can mistake them.

I don't mistake them, but I know back in my early shrooming days I more than likely ate some of those look alikes. I had trips that had a lot of muscle tightness in them (more than normal cube trips) and I bet I had some toxin mixed in.

i know what u mean supernova. back in my first pickings i use to mistake small inky caps and others for copes and eat them with cubes lol i didnt know then what i know now of course...i have seen huge boletus in my fields as well with pores on the bottom instead of gills but the tops would remind me of cubes and i would pick them then get pissed cause they arent what i would be lookin for
