Under Water Mushrooms!!

The weirdest thing happened to me recently. I threw one of my cakes that I thought was dead and gone into the water/perlite in my terr the other day. It was about half way underwater. Today when I went to exchange the air, I noticed a mushroom growing out of the water/perlite. I picked up the cake and a shit load of mushrooms were growing off the bottom of the submerged cake. I just thought it was awsome.

you mean you thought it was dead because the nutrients were used up?
the mushrooms probably came about because the water refreshed the cake(asme thing as dunking), and therefore mushies grew
