That doesn't sound much like anyone was doing any sharing in your example, there, man.  The idea I think wasn't that either of the peoples who contest ownership of what is currently Israel and the Occupied Territories should have sole ownership of that land, but rather that they might find a way to co-exist peacefully.  A bit unrealistic?  Utopian idealism, even?  Let's hope not... :sun:

but he was spiritual in the sense that intellectually he figured that god make sense, that all his discoveries supported the notion of a higher conscious or force,

Yeah, I think Einstein was a spiritual bloke, but hey, I didn't really know him all that well.  Or at all, I should say.  One of the better-known Einstein quotes, paraphrased; "You can either live your life as though everything is a miracle or as though nothing is a miracle" I would say reflects a deeply spiritual mindset.

The reason I said this thread was of little value earlier was because the topic it raised initially was terribly flawed.  Trying to determine spirituality of enormous groups of people strikes me as an exercise in futility.  I'm sure some jewish folks aren't the least bit spiritual-minded, I'm sure plenty of jewish people are.  Just like any other large, varied, non-homogenious group you could care to name.  'Are non-spiritual people spiritual?' strikes me as a better question, as it touches on issues of spiritual growth being a non-consensual condition of life.  <-THAT could could be debated without having to resort to making broad generalizations about millions of people based of religion, ethnicity or race (however you care to define the word).

Um, I hate to be the one to have to explain this to you, but I don't think that nice young lady is in fact trying to swallow that banana.  Y'see, when a woman and a banana are very much in love, they look for ways to express that love, and, well...  :blush:

I don't refer dogmatic in terms of some religous dogma that people believe in, the term dogmatic refers to thoughs of any belief system for that matter, as their attitude is incorporated into that belief system, most dogmatic people are rigid to their precise prospectives, they are orderly and make black and white judgments on issues that in the grey,

an example would be, I looked at a hot girl and she was wearing an old lady knitted sweater, I concluded dogmatically that this was a bad stylish move, no if and buts about it, but isn't style based on personal subjective preference, I guess in a way, but I thought it made her look old and so I preceived her that way LOL.

but see in the example I made a black and white judgement on something that has no clear cut answer, but yet I gave one, and I do say it was the right one IMO

rigid intolerance due to their own beliefs allows them to make snap decisions and definitive judgments on situations

Listen, Its not like I believe this dogma whole heartedly, especially when theirs no verifiable evidence to prove any of this, other than acutal occurances that I mentioned, I was just trying to make an argument from within their own context, playing devils advocate if you will, its better to refute their own logic rather than apply my belief system towards theirs, they'll just dismiss that,

thats your problem, compulsion that is, not the silliness, theirs nothing wrong with silly stuff, but being compelled is not a problem either, only that is to yourself, which this compelling advice just illustraed my point of which I have none, A persons only reason to post is to be silly, is maybe the reason why people dislike ones contribution, but that in itself is another form of silliness, to assume there ever be and has ever been any consensus or united front on a forum defined by debate, some cats really need to wake up

Well, sure, you've toned down the anti-semitism and whatnot but just because you aren't obligated to be nice or considerate doesn't mean you shouldn't be.  It seems to me you're advocating confrontation for it's own sake, and I think more meaningful conversations can be had when you aren't forcing those who take shit too seriously to react defensively.  But hey, that's just me.  :smirk:

I don't mean to sound like a jerk here, but I've yet to notice you say anything crucially important.  Not crucial to me, in any case, but that's just me.  Conflict is generally inevitable on a forum where people with different points of view express themselves honestly, I agree.  Ideally, this is a place where thesis + antithesis = synthesis.  But the tone of that conflict is determined by the way you approach the differences in opinion held by others.  If you charge into these situations trying to provoke extreme reactions from those of differing points of view, your own arguments are going to be dismissed irregardfull of whatever merit they may actually have.  Call it a 'get along club' if you like, I call it civil discussion.  Y'know, the kind that doesn't rely on name-calling and misrepresentation of ideas.  I mean, you actually had me believing you honestly held some of the opinions you (not too up on my internet-lingo, so I could be misusing the term) troll with.  Why would you feel the need to misrepresent you views so much?  Why not settle for honest discussion?  It's less dramatic, sure, but more actually gets said.
