hi mates, i've never used petri dishes..but finally, a week ago i've bougth 20 ones. i'm not asking me why i've a contamination: i know this..is my first time playing with agar, and i have not a glovebox etc etc and it's summer!

listen here..

30 MINUTES AGO i checked the petri and the mycelium seemed ok. NOW over the mycelium there is the black moldo. how is possible in 30 minutes!?!

damn...

Well, one possibility is that the mycelium was actually mold mycelium and it just fruited with black spore bearing structures. It could be black pin mold.

it could be but, the only thing that stop me to think it is that the "white stuff" on the third day seemed to block the advance of black mold.

next time i'll check it with my mycroscope.
