COBWEB PETRI
    #562415 - 02/25/02 10:13 AM (22 years, 1 month ago)

if you are using petri, and your mycelia is fairly cottony to begin with. how can you tell if you have a cobweb mold contamination? i suspect i have cobwebs but didn't realize it. because the mycelia is growing, but it is "small, and low, and there is alot of low density patches in between thick mycelia looking patches. that is where i suspect the cobweb is. the low density patches sort of look like the growth on the pic of that other recent petri cobweb post. and now on a recently transferred agar slice is showing similiar "stunted" growing mycelia.
can anyone help me out with some ideas on how to find out for sure if it is just weak, multispore mycelia, or cobweb contamination.
thanks, and please consider the offer below.

Cobweb is very fast, much faster spreading than mycelium.
