MLB All-Star Game
    #5848025 - 07/11/06 06:31 PM (17 years, 6 months ago)

I've never actually watched one of these before. Here goes!

Acid doesn't give you truths; it builds machines that push the envelope of perception. Whatever revelations came to me then have dissolved like skywriting. All I really know is that those few years saddled me with a faith in the redemptive potential of the imagination which, however flat, stale and unprofitable the world seems to me now, I cannot for the life of me shake.

I've seen bits and pieces, I'll watch some of it tonight. Usually pretty boring.

So far this is boring as fuck. The crowd doesn't give a goddamn shit.

That's 'cause none of them are fans. They're there 'cause they're rich fucks who want to brag they were at the game. It's a souped up exhibition game that is usually so terrible they had to spice it up by letting the winner have hone field advantage, even though the better team might have 20+ more wins and not get it, it's complete bullshit.

The fans are the richy type probably because all the charity and fundraising they're doing. Just a guess but I bet it's not far off. Rich people don't pay for tickets very often... they're usually given as promotional type things. Surprisingly alot of times they have trouble giving tickets away.

They have trouble giving away tickets to the allstar game?

Maybe not the all-star game, but promotional tickets that corporations give away to butter up clients. When they can't give them to the clients that they want they run around their office trying to give tickets away to their employees. They usually end up empty because their employees don't have but an hour or two notice.

No...but I wouldn't doubt that they had trouble selling them though. The cheapest I could find was four tickets for $1400 ($350 a ticket). Granted, this included all the events (home run derby, all-star game, etc..). The expensive seats were like $2000 a piece. And I even have connections too (my mom works for the city and I have a friend who knows the head of security at PNC Park).

$350 for a crap seat? What a fucking ripoff. I don't like baseball that much.

That game is not baseball. It's still a joke. The NL had their 3rd 3rd baseman in there when Konerko (I think it was him) started the rally. Just because they wanted to get him in the game. Can you say Ole'? Cabrera's a great player but he aint no defensive replacement.
