ha, hey, he's got a 9 game hitting streak goin on. and i dont think it should have been scored an error, but he should have made the play. it was one of those weird baseball moments.
brian jordan compltely ran over the phillies' first baseman, that shit was hilarious. he didnt get called out either.
oh yeah, that picture is from a few years ago. i was trippin my balls off on some good acid when i took that. heh

Heh...I always give the Braves a tough time. I hate 'em - but you have to hand it to 'em, hell, winning the division what? 14 years?! in a row. Craziness.
I'm a Yankee fan but I do love the Mets too. Love going to Shea, love David Wright and Tom Glavine and Pedro (and I hate Mike Piazza so I like the Mets even more this year). I hope they give you guys a run for your money in the NL East, or at least make it into the playoffs as a wild card.

like i said. im actually worried this year. they're the only ones who pose a threat. but if our starting pitchers can get their thumbs out of their asses, we'll be fine.
its so weird for the braves pitchers to not be kicking ass. we're really missing leo mazzone. fucking traitor. it sucks, we finally got some good bats, and our pitching is falling apart. i dont know if its still right or not, but on sunday, espn was talkin about how the braves have scored more runs than anyone else, but theyve given up more than anyone else too.
last night was the 40th anniversary of the first mlb game played in atlanta. a lot of the old players were there, including phil neikro, but hank aaron wasn't. i got a bunch of pics, might get around to em later.

Technically there is a sort of cap...and Steinbrenner can just afford to pay the luxury fees for breaking it.

idk.. im guessing its a different kind of cap from the NFL.. that one seems to work very well at keeping the league competitive and teams within the salary limits

Yeah the NFL has a much fairer cap system, keeps teams honest, forces 'em to cut big names to save their asses.

Baseball has the soft cap, whereas basketball and football have a hard cap, which you absolutely cannot go over.
But yeah, I definately hate the Yankee's because they're good. Its different w/ other teams I hate, like the Cardinals. With St. Louis, its personal, because the Cubs play them SO much and we're so close that I see their fans all the time and hate them. With the Yanks, its more of a passive thing. I really dont follow them that close.
I just hate the whole "Lets not Build anything, but steal everyone elses talent". There's no skill involved. Its just Buy, Buy, Buy. Kind of a souless way to run a team. I mean, I identify w/ alot of the Cubs players, especially pitchers because they've come up in the system and I saw them pitch in the minors. W/ the yankees, its just some guy who they paid a bunch of money to leave his other team. Where's the respect in that?

I definitely wish they'd get more people out of the Yankees' farm system. But hey, Jeter and Bernie are homegrown talent and now so are Cano and Wang...I hope that's the beginning of something.

You must've seen Andy Phillips play then. There's another product of our farm system, and if you ask me, it's time to sacrifice Giambi's .OBP and HR's for some better defense at 1st. Slap Giambi into the DH spot at least, and give Phillips the starts at 1B, I say.

thats why i like the braves so much. i THINK they had 14 rookies on the team last year! i could be wrong on the number, but it was somewhere around there. a lot of em came from the metro area. cobb county (where i live) is supposed to be a scouter's paradise. Jeremy Hermeida, who had a grand slam in his first at bat for the marlins last year, hit a monster home run off my best friend in high school.
the scout from the marlins was there and after the game, hermeida came up to my buddy and told him he'd send him a check after he made his millions for making him look so good in front of the scout. that shits hilarious...

I'm a huge Braves fan, been one since 94. For the past few years, the Braves have always started off shakey and eventually won the division. The amount of hitting talent on the Braves is incredible seeing as 4 of people in the lineup are in their second year. The Braves will freaking own everyone this year if they can stay healthy and get the pitching together.

im glad to see francouer comin out of his slump. 3 home runs and a couple base hits in the last 2 games. i just hope he keeps it up.
its too bad none of our starters are doin shit. none of them even have a win yet. if they dont get their shit together, they can kiss this year goodbye. you cant win without quality pitching

I'm in need of a 3rd baseman. Garciaparra is on the DL right now. I don't even know if he's going to be playing on 3rd this year?? Anybody know where they are going to play him when he heals up?

I think somebody already snatched him up. I'm just hoping they play Garciaparra on 3rd, he should be out on the field within the next 2 weeks.
