fat ass shroom question

got a quick question...
i've seen some shrooms only about an inch tall but they are getting real obese. isn't this from too much carbon dioxide build up? could it be too much water also?
should fanning help?

Hey yogi, I can suggest that you check out a tek on this site, called Eliminate Fat Asses Forever.

Basically it says that the sides of the terrarium are reflecting light and confusing the mushrooms as to where the light source is so they don't grow straight up. This tek remedies the problem by painting or applying a black film to the terrarium and making sure the light source is coming from the top.

Also fat asses wouldn't account from too much CO2. In this situation the shroomies are likely to grow tall and thin to try and reach fresh oxygen.

excess water can lead to fat-asses but the previous poster was correct when he stated that excess co2 triggers tall skinny shrooms with tiny caps, not fat-asses.
i doubt that light plays any role though, it's more a genetic trait more pronounced in some strains, such as pf classic, than others.
