What is the deal with getting nothing but fat ass's? PF Classic/PF style.

They are pretty much standard for PF's...I did notice an improvement when grown on millet though

PF mushrooms do tend to get more fat asses, though aside from the strain, there are generally two other factors that lead to fat asses. First, too much moisture could be the problem. Your substrate may just be too wet. Second, lack of air exchange. The first time I grew I didn't use a humidifier or any other kind of air exchange method except for fanning my terrarium a few times a day. Cubies need an air exchange about once every hour or two in order to keep the oxygen circulating. Check your growing conditions and see if either of these could be the problem.

Also, make sure the shrooms are getting 12 hours of light and 12 hours of darkness.

If one drills/burns a few small holes (about 1/2" across) and glues pipe screens to keep out bugs would'nt that help the air exchange alot? But then your cakes/casings will probably be drying out faster and need more misting.

Most people will probably tell you fat asses have a higher moisture content and so less potency, but in my experience, i didnt really notice this at all.
