Stalled growth on Rye

Hi, I don't understand whats going on with these pink buffalo jars growing on rye.
They are being kept in a incubator at 28c, they were booming along and when they had reached 50% colonization I shook the living hell out of them. A friend suggested maybe I gave them to violent of a shake but I dont see how that could cause them to stall....
I have two jars outside of the incubator in a cabnit and they are showing noticeable growth...
The lids on the jars of rye are crack enough that the lid will slide freely when moved so I know its not a air exchange problem, the FC is covered so no light can enter, although I do look at the jars on a daily basis to spot any contamination problems...
Any idea what might be going on? thanks in advance.

What sort of filter material are you using? If you have no filter, bacteria can easily enter from the air currents and contaminate your grow. If you can post a picture, I'll see if I can identify if bacillus is present. If you don't have a camera, see if the grains are 'greasy' where they contact the glass surface. Many people think if they see 'wet' where the grains touch it's bad, but that's normal. Wetspot bacteria has a greasy appearance. RR
