brown/black growth on colonized mycelium

I birthed my jars a couple days ago. they are fully colonized, and i put them in a rubbermaid container with perlite. i was spraying the container once or twice a day, i have since stopped. on a few cakes i have seen brownish black spots about the size of a pencil eraser. it looks like mold to me... but it is confusing because i thought that already colonized cakes did not contaminate? the spots were growing directly on the mycelium. i cut the spots off with a sterilized razor blade... look to be healthy mycelial growth underneath. i sprayed he cakes with an h2o2/h2o solution and isolated them from the others. any clue as to what the contam was or what i can do to prevent this from happening again, and possibly save my cakes?
thanks

If you have perlite in your terrarium, there's no need to mist. You only add a probability to have problems. Too much water is very often a call for contaminations. I hope you'll manage to birth all your cakes.

hi.....watch
I think i had the same type of mold your talking about.
It was on the top of my cake.
I sliced the top off and put Verm on top of the cake and it made it.
The mold didn't come back.....tg
Not exactly sure what it was..... I should have took a picture.
This is one i haven't seen posted too.
Would have been a good one for the Contamination Picture Thread.
