Help. new environment for my growth..

Since this is the first time im growing in a new area.. I wanted to ask about Equador P.cud mushrooms. I put the jars that were inoculated on top of the heater in a tupperwear...with a added bottom as to not burn up the cakes. I have to different types of cakes
One set of new BRF and Vermiculite
and One set of 2 week old Perlite w/ birdseed (experiment)
The perlite and birdseed ones show little mycelium! but were keep in a closet that was a bit cooler then the room. WHy do you think these are takeing it slow...i assumed cause we never tried perlie and birdseed that was the probleam. Also...do you think a heater is going to kill the spores...and how can i add more water to the jars with out adding contamination. ALso my room is dry and was thinking to use my extra WARM mist humidifier(i know this si bad for direct terrium useage) just to make the room a bit moister..if i add h2o2 ( i know this kills spores) will their be an effect on the growth of mycelium? Also, can someone explain how Trypamine and Tyrptifane make mushrooms stronger..as a chemistry major im interested. Because ill just ass pure Tryptamine to the vermicultie if this is the case..
THANKS!

Ive never heard of using perlite and birdseed.. I wouldnt imagine this 2 work. If it can work i would say your problem would be in the temp that it has been in. Go out and buy a temp/humidity gauge and monitor the heat that your jars are at. The spores wont get killed as long as the temp is around 82-84 which is optimal.

Um, perlite doesnt wick water at all like vermiculite does. Birdseed and vermiculite may work just fine, bu tnot perlite.

The heater baked them dry. And what's with the perlite in the substrate?

soak the birdseed in water for 24 hours and you wont need to use perlite or verm at all. theyre going slow because of low temps and as you suspect they are probably drying out a little also. The spores wont die until they hit a temp of about 127 fahrenheit, but mycellium growth will stop and most likely receed at about 95 or 100 degrees so dont let your heating pad go that far! adding water to the jars is pretty easy. ose the oven flow tex tocreate a sterile work environment (turn your oven to 200 or so and open the door pull out a rack and work on that, keeps warm draft blowing contaminants away from your opened jars). while oven is heating get a half pint jar and put water in it. microwave it till it boils for 30 seconds; its now sterile. get a lid w/ no holes and alcohol sterile teh underside and let it evaporate. cap off the water jar soon as you open the mic door. let it cool and there will be great suction keeping that cap on. now take your empty syringe (hope you have one) and open that water jar in your stove rack setup and suck up some water w/ syringe. now open your jar just a crack and shoot you cooled sterile water in there. or if you have holes in your lids you can do it thru there too, but squirt it in the middle, not the sides. H2O2 in your humidifier wont hurt anything but dont put it in the jars at all. it wont kill mycellium but it sure as hell wont grow with it either, unless its small concentration like 10:1 water:H2O2. Tryptamines are great things too. they are very easily converted into psilocin and shrooms react to tryptamines quite well in that aspect but do not help psilocybin at all, which is what causes about 80% of your trip. it can increase psilocin 3-fold but wont affect your trip much. if you can get some pure tryptamine i want some to experiment with to confirm this info that i have only read and passed on, never tried it. if you cant get tryptamine which is pretty hard 2 get, youre gonna have 2 use illinoisis (apologize for my spelling) root bark or sour milk. but as far as your jars go, keep em warm and keep em wet andtheyll grow eventually. just dont be like me and let your first 20 jars dry out and die on ya.
-------------------- Holy shit people; COMMON SENSE! we were all born with it where did it go?
maybe theres a tek out there to explain how to use it!
