brown patches... contaminant or mycelium waste?
    #577250 - 03/12/02 06:46 PM (21 years, 8 months ago)

i just birthed 10 cakes 2 days ago. a few of the cakes have brown patches on them. it looks like the white just turned brown, they smell fine and it doesnt look like it's spreading. they also had this when they were in the jars. is this a contaminant, mycelium waste, some of the vermiculite/brf, or something else?

To me it sounds like it could have just been a little water damage from water droplets on the sides of the jars. It is hard to tell though as you haven't provided any pictures or too much of a description.

Have you noticed any growth of the brownish spots since you birthed them or has it remained the same.

sorry, no digi cam :/

it's been almost 4 days since being birthed now, and the brown/beige spots are the same size, no signs of any/other contamination, and no unusual smelss.
