Summerfest in Milwaukee

Summerfest is a pretty big music festival they have here every year. Kind of cool, 'cause you can see alot of acts, but usually the crowds suck. I was there a few years ago for the Dead, and it was just a bunch of drunk old dudes. Lots of jam bands this year, which is cool.

But this is who I'll be seeing this year, theres a few hundred bands playing though....I have the week off my job, and most of the concerts are free, so its a good deal.

29th--Blue Oyster Cult
29th--Tom Petty
30th--Pearl Jam
30th--Lynyrd Skynyrd + Steppenwolf
2nd--Nine Inch Nails (maybe)
4th--Creedence, moe., Pschedelic Furs (Hard choices this day)
5th--Yonder Mountain String Band, Mickey Harts Interactive Drum Circle
6th--String Cheese Incident + Bob Weir and Ratdog + Keller Williams
7th--The Big Wu (If I can get out of bed after the night before)

Anyone else from around the area gonna hit this up?

ya i usually try to avoid summer fest because of the crowd , but you cant beat that many bands all in one spot.... last year was pretty cool, with sci yonder, new monsoon, and last but not least JOURNEY hahah, ill be there on the 6th

i went last year and saw petty and the black crows at milwaukee

and i saw rush there like 3 years ago, killer show

I'll be there, I've seen so many great bands at summerfest, I can't begin. I've gone at least 15 summers in a row. It used to be cool, FREE concerts rocked, there used to be drugs there, not anymore.

edit: I've seen a lot of shitty bands there too, facilitated by the drugs.

I'm originaly from Milwaukee but havn't been back up there for about 15 years. I would love to make it back up there for that but doubt I'll be able to swing it.
