Ok can you guys identify these as Pan Subbs? I found them in a fairly large grassy area around my school while walking to my car.
http://www.shroomery.org/forums/files/06-22/920985271-sub4.jpg
I bruised the mushroom and it had a dark color, and im pretty sure what looked like a dark purple-blue color as well.
Spore print in progress.
Thanks.
(ps. Sorry about the crappy pics, they were from my phone. And I live in the PNW and it is the subb season.)

Hmm is that supposed to mean that they are pan subbs?? or is that a bad thing?
Havent hunted these much. Last late spring/ early summer i found some, not thinking that they were pan subbs but im pretty sure they are the same species as what i found last year.
Thanks

yeah i know... damn.
Anyone else have an suggestions?
(ps. This same type of mushroom, the ones i found last year, i had a few people that were willing to try them out. They said they took about 10-20 of them and started to feel the symptoms of psilocybe. Now is this Placebo or did they actually feel it? ( I had 3 people try it out, they had all said the same thing, that they started to feel it for a while then it faded.))

Yeah don't give unidentified mushrooms to humans to test for you, learn to indentify.

Placebo.
If you find mushrooms like that in your lawn and are wondering whether they are foes or subbs, unless your lawn is heavily manured they are foes.
Go to cow fields for Subbs

Agreed Panaeolina foenisecii......your last blurry pic too hard to say...
Here is one form of Panaeolus subbalteatus (SUBBs) found recently.....tho there could be a couple Pan Foes hiding in there along side and also some deadly Conocybe were found also common in lawns....
almost all these in the pics are SUBBs......they were found growing in a lawn here.......
EDIT: Heres the pics......click..... http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Cat/0/Number/5658513/an/0/page/0

I had thought about it in the past but never all the way through. If someone did start a lawn with composted manure and incorperate some healthy mycelium if you could have a yard full of your faveriot dung-loving psilocybe. What do you think....? 150 quarts for your average yard?
sorry for the off-topic.

Absolutly.....Ive seen amazing things people have done with incorporating cultures as part of their gardens and yards ecosystems....
but as to Mustards recomendations.......this is the reason for my providing this link......and the link within that link where I had explained what might be the simplest method and least thought of.......tho many experienced lawn hunting SUBB hunters know better.....most of the lawns I find them in have nothing to do with manure other than dog and cat and a previously sodded lawn........they are common on typical everyday old established lawns in yards, schools, parks, buisness etc. where manure is not commonly ammended though manure present will greatly improve the presence of Panaeolus and posibly their potency..........and in our area hunting for SUBBs in cow pastures for the most part is COMPARABLY a waste of time......this why I always have to laugh a little every time I hear how difficult it is to find anything in southern Calif. and how you are probably for the most part waisting your time....when they are in their own yards growing being walked on.....you can have 10 mushrooms in your yard growing together in a group which can look identical.....7 might be FOEs and 3 SUBBs or vice versa.......in general FOEs are by far the most common and largely out number the other PANs and you will quikly tire of finding them but seeing them tells you the others can be present some of which can be potentially fatal such as Conocybes and Pholiotina so caution...
In my primary post on this it explains how to go about this using Pan. foenisecii as an indicator in an area that SUBBs are present.....Curecat went out and did it in within 4 days.... who needs a cow field???
heres the link..... http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Cat/0/Number/5655347/an/0/page/1

Your best bet would be to make a liquid slurry of cow manure water and spread it all over your yard. You dont want to kill your grass in the process of doing this so you dont want to put solid poop in your yard. Then I would use the spore broadcast method of cultivation which is very simple. Just take a bunch of spore prints of the mushrooms you want to grow (prefferably ones that grow naturally where you live) and mix them with water and spread them all of the place you want to grow the mushrooms.
Its not as effective as cultured spawn but it can work.

Yes they are foes, sorry . Unless im mistaken foes DO contain a tad bit of psilocybin, or is this disproven? Either way placebo seems likely, especially as there are a group of people taking, this actually makes palcebo more likely to occour from my view; if one person in the group says they feel something, the others will shortly too, you see evil placebo dwarfs EVERYWHERE
