Alright guys here are some fresh mushrooms from the spot that I picked last year's "Pan Subbs" from. After reposting an image in a thread I started a few weeks ago ("Pan Subbs up in NY) MJ told me my mushies weren't subbs. He suggested Olivaceus(sp.?) and Gumby agreed. I found some more today after the rains, and snapped some pics after I brought them home.
Here are some pics of them about 5 or 10 minutes after they were picked.

![]() I have more pictures than these, so if they are necessary let me know. Thank you.

Did the base of the stems bruise blue? Are the stems hollow?
And are you working on a spore print?
Also, these were found growing on dung, correct?

I haven't taken a spore print...but I'm absolutely sure that if I did it would be jet black b/c I took lots of them last year. I know for certain they are active...I tripped many a time on them last year. The stems are hollow. They were found on a mix of dung/rotting hay. The mycelium on some of them had blue tinges to it. Thanks for your help!

Haha... I dunno what help you are thanking me for, but no problem!
I have never found P. Subbs myself, so I am definitely not an authority here, but from those pics and your descriptions, it looks to me like you have found some!
I guess you'll just have to wait until the experts appear to be sure, though!
Nice finds, and thanks for posting the pics. I need to find myself a horse pasture to go hunting in ASAP!!! It is fun to find non-active mushrooms, but I'm sure it's even funner to find some active ones!
Peace,
RebelSteve

I believe that they are certainly Panaeolus subbalteatus.
The shape of the cap, and the alignment of the gills, along with the shape and color of the stem are right on.
Spore print should be jet black. The stems should be somewhat fragile and will break apart pretty easily...same with the caps. Stems should also be hollow.
GOod find.. What was the habitat that they were in?

HAHAHA dude damn it!!! MJ and Mr Mushrooms both insisted that they weren't subbs from a pic that I showed that I snapped last year. These are the EXACT same mushies. Habitat - mix of dung/rotting hay lying in a cow pasture.
