contam question

Ok if the bottom of the jars are not growing anying thing is that bad ? Also if the mycelim is like white but look {crazy} b/c like it looks like rocks of white stuff ? Is that also bad ? And would you be able to cut out little pices of contam out your cakes . And would they be ok ? Just some thoughts ....

The bottom of jars is typically the last place to colonize. I always turn mine over and bang them on something to get an air space between the substrate and the glass. I have read people's concerns over introducing contams this way from drawing in new air, but I have never had a jar contaminate on me after doing this. It has always led to increadibly thick and fast growth though.

You shouldn't fuck around with contams if they appear in your jars. If you can see a contam on the surface of a jar it probably also has a good foothold inside the cake. I wouldn't trust cutting out contam because you probably won't get it all, and lots of contams are very toxic. I've read about people doing it, but I never fuck around with that stuff. You can get sick from just breathing in some airborne contams. Just my opinion.
