Could someone identify?
    #5612902 - 05/10/06 02:08 PM (17 years, 8 months ago)

I found these in my backyard. I live in Houston, TX (Southeast).
Does anyone know what they are?
Thanks.

Here are the spore prints.

They are a nice dark black color.

You should print the mushies in your first picture and then edit your post noting the spore color.

Look like inactive panoleus species, probably Panoleus foenescii. However, I would also love to see a spore print on your finds.

Black spore prints would rule out Panaeolus foenisecci. Looks like you MIGHT have some panaeolus subbalteatus. You may want to check for any blue bruising at the base of the stipe where the mycelia is present.

Quote:

Hm. It is some type of Panaeolus, possibly a psychoactive active one.

Definately check the base of all the stems for blue bruising..
