Small terrarium with 2 PF cakes & PERLITE
    #559187 - 02/22/02 12:09 AM (22 years, 7 months ago)

I was wondering if any of you think that there would be a need to re-hydrate perlite at some time during the fruiting phase..perhaps a week after they're birthed and right before they start pinning? I am just concerned that the moisture that is lost when I'm "fanning" isn't put back into the air from the perlite.
My terrarium is completely shut and when I "fan" I use a hand air pump (like one you blow up basketballs) It goes through a filter and into the fruiting chamber. I open the valve at the bottom (and on the side) to let out the C02. I can't tell how damp the perlite is because I never touch it. It is about an inch thick all accross the bottom of the terrarium. How often do YOU have to re-hydrate YOUR perlite?

Please refrain from criticizing me about my obnoxious ramble. Thanks. - ))

Okay now that I think about it it should be moist enough...The design of the poor mans' terrarium in MMGG V 3.2 said that the moisture of the cakes alone will provide it with adequate humidity in such a small terrarium...I didn't even think about that. So I guess I answered my own question! Damnit I'm a genius.
