Does micro amounts of LC work?

O knocked up 9 grain jars with my Karo LC that had been going for quite some time now. It had quite a few visible peaces of LC in it and so I shook it up but I did not have a marble or anything In it because I forgot that. Then I sucked up some liquid but in the syringe I could barely see anything in it just specs of myc that glistened in it now and then.

Will these be able to colonies my rye?

It sounds like it would, but as you see the benefit of agitating the LC.

So yeah but it might not be as fast as it could have been.

myc isnt like spores, its not microscopic, so what you see is what you get.  more = better.  as long as you saw something you got a chance.  there's also a chance some of your innoculations will be "blank" though.  what tends to happen is if you hold your syringe in place too long, the myc sinks to the bottom near the needle end and you blow it all in one or two shots, then end up shooting things up with sugar water... oops.  have had bald spots in brf jars due to thin LC but even with some weak ass LC 2 or 3 spots out of 4 would go and eventually find its way around :wink:

I made sure I shook it up a lot. I punctured the tyvek then pulled it out fliped it a few times and put it back in and shot up.

I hade trying to find the hole through the tyvek such a pain!

Why would you want to use micro amounts when you could use macro amounts?

I did'nt want to It just kind of happend.
I stuck needle In hole and then tilted the jar towards me so the needle would go in the fluid and then used my teeth to pull the punger but befor all THat I gave it a good swishing and switling (of cource)

Sometimes it's looks as though there's nothing in the syringe but myc will be in there. If you think about it how big is a single spore and how big would little baby myc be. You can only see the big colonies of myc.

Ahh I feel more confident now.

I got some big myc in the syringe rite now and I am incubating it so I could add 1cc into each jar later to help if I dont see growth in 5 days.
