black spots on cake after harvest

i harvested and a few hours later i went to get the cake to dunk and i noticed some black spots on the top. i dont think they were spores because i only got 2 shrroms from that cake and they were growing down low. Is this an issue?

Also, i havent checked yet but are there nice drying chambers on the web? mine blows ass hole and my hands are all cut up from wire mesh.

black spots usually means black mold but without pics it is hard to say. blue spots are damaged mycelium.

buy a dehydrator

works like a charm and i think it was a one time investment of $40

get's 'em dry as hell. i press on them gentley to see if they are dry and they end up snapping on me so they are deffinatley dehydrated.

The location of the growing mushrooms and where the spores end up are irrelevant. I routinely get spores 6-8 inches above the tallest mushroom when I wait too long to harvest. All it takes is a small breeze to carry hundreds of spores away from the area there dropping in.

i totally agree man... when i clean out the PMP's there are always spores trying to blow up and out the lid.
