How to wire a Homemade fogger bucket??!?
    #5567481 - 04/28/06 04:38 PM (17 years, 9 months ago)

I am making a homemade fogger bucket for humidity control. I don't know how to wire this Squirrell fan up.

I recently went a bought just a basic 12v power adapter, i am wanting to splice it and hook it up but i have no clue how to do so.

here's what i got.

12v.

has these basic attachments

Squirrell Fan

Has this....

how do i hook these up? Can i use just the basic attachments? or will i have to cut the wire?

(i randomly tried to touch the wires to connections, but noting to work)

Thanks

You should never randomly touch wires to connections to guess how it works.

Where did you source the fan from?

If you don't intend to use the transformer for anything else, make sure you unplug it and then strip off those attachments so you're left with bare wire. You could try connecting these leads to the red and black wires of the fan (polarity doesn't matter), but it looks like it has a brushless motor with no controller, which means you might need to buy one or salvage one from somewhere else.

> 720mA - hard to find

You can use any transformer that gives more than 720mA of current, as long as the voltages match. A 1A (1000mA) transformer, which is common, will work fine when replacing a 720mA. Again, make sure the output voltages match.
