how long do spore prints last in open air?

I got this cambodian spore print that I want to use. Only problem is it has been sitting in my room for like a two weeks. All i did was fold the tinfoil over and it has been sitting on my desk. I really want to use it and I probably will even if you guys tell me it wont work. I am just worried that contams flew onto the foil. I really wanna use this print b/c I feel as if cambo is the best strain (ive tried) and i dont wanna order another syringe

It's impossible to know. It might be fine, it might not. You are going to use it anyway so... go for it. Good luck.

Sounds like agar or an LC would be your best bet to test for or eliminate contams.

you reallt dont want your spores to be left on the open like that...
thats just asking for some sort of contam or bacteria to fall on it...
sorry,, im just a contam freak... there my worst enemy when it comes to my babys, ajajaj
either way... just dont leave em in the open like that if it isnt necesary to/......

what is the best place to store them? would they be alright in a ziploc bag in a dark place? how long could i make a print last?

Yep, ziploc baggies are your friend! I personally leave my prints in a clean desiccant chamber which is sealed ina ziploc baggie. This way all moisture is completely removed and none can get in... therefore no moldy spore prints :smile:
