I used 'Mushrooms & other fungi of Great Britain & Europe' by Roger Phillips. It's out of print now but all the local mycologists I know swear by it as being the most comprehensively illustrated book on the subject in Britain.

I asked him about his new book and he said it should be out on the 18th August, can't wait to pick a copy up!

Yes, it's a European species so you'll only find it mentioned in European books. It's actually been fruiting in my garden for about a month now, hope to see it next year
