    #549554 - 02/12/02 11:54 PM (22 years, 7 months ago)

Yes, I'm cheap:) I got the $20 PC at k-hole...and yes it only cooks to 10 psi, but I know I'm not he only one...hehe

Anyways, How long should I PC the jars for at 10 psi?
Loose lids or tight with holes in top?

Also

How long should I let my jars sit to cool down, and should I just leave then in the PC to cool down, or take them out?

Let them cool down in the pressure cooker.

I'll bet you dollars to doughnuts that half hour is fine. And you don't have to let them cool in the pc, they can cool just as well on the counter. Really.

As the PC cools it will draw air into it. Be sure you let it cool in a clean area. You can wrap some cotton /w IPA around the vent/stem to help ensure the inflowing air is clean.
