finding jars

I am trying to start growing but I can't find one thing, jars. What is the most common store/place to find tappered 1/2 pint jars.

Wal-mart in the big cleaning section. Im considering switching to sporeworks's baags though, it seems like its 30x easier then jar growing.

i cant knock the bags, because i never tried them, but i dont believe there recycable like glass, check at your grocery stores also, they are usually in the preservative section, right next to the big ass jars of pickles. good luck!

Hardware stores usually have some...if they dont, they will most likely order them for you...bassplayer74

You can try and look at your local grocery store but I doubt you will find them there. No mason jars anyway. They may have other jars that can work. Everyone always says to go to your local grocery store for mason jars but I have never seen them, and i looked all over, I live in the NW. And when i ask they say they are rare nowdays. Ask your grandparents! they will no where to get them:) I have no place to get mason jars but online. Shipping cost the same as a box of jars though around 10 bucks. Good Luck!

i was getting my jars 1pint, 1/2 pint and 1/2 pint talls at an arts an crafts store, then on pure luck and chance, well not so much chance, i needed to find the biggest glass jar that i could find, i went to farm fresh, i dont know if you all have those in your area, and right next to the biggest jar of pickles i had ever seen, where stacks upon stacks of unmolested 1/2 pint ball jars, 1 pint mason ball jars, and 1/2 pint tall jars, they even had dust on them, been there for so long, poor jars, but anyways, i took a couple out of sheer greed, thinking everyone wanted them, i came back a week later and they had replaced what i took. im getting to the point here, anyways, check your grocery stores. and if you really need them that bad, ill pick some up for you, you just need to pay me back lol , pm me if needed.

You have to expect some things from people that would use webtv. Its just a huge unwanted ad (more like spam since it can show up several times in posts, sucking up tons of RAM might i add) in every post, frankly i think its very annoying as well.

aha! youir right nobodycares42! fred meyers does have mason jars! i have always been blowing my money on shipping for these damn things. they have KERR. I dont even need anymore jars but i was so stoked to see them, i bought another case:)
