7 Days into LC (Karo and B+)

Is this growing slower than it supposed to? This is day 7 into my inoculation of B+ into Karo. No signs of carmalization or contams. I honestly cant remember how much i injected, i think 1cc, but maybe 2cc.

I am about the same day wise as you are and with the same stand suprisingly, all i have so far is a few floating milicli but not much, mine is in my incubator chamber with the temp at 81 deg, let me know how your turns out, of and btw what was your prep for your jar?

I also got a question. I should i go about sucking this up. Do i swab with needle with alcohol then draw it? Will the alcohol damage the mycelium?

if needle is sterile then dont swipe it with alcohol.

I dont reuse any but I have never tried. I might start reusing the 60ml ones because there arent so cheap but the needles are very cheap I will keep using fresh ones...

It doesn't matter, Some will say it does, some will say it doesn't and most just prefer new ones, it's ultimately up to you.

Noxide, by day you should have more growth. It takes about 2 days for spore germination. That means you can knock that time off if you start with live LC versus spores.

Then if you are constantly stirring and have ambient around normal room temperature (75F), it will take about another 4 days for the LC to complete with cubensis (much faster for Pan Cyans). If only stirring once a day, you can figure about 7 days.

That means your LC should be further along unless the room is cold.

the LC is in my incubator with everything else. ATM the temp is 82.9
You know i figured it should have been much further along thats why i was asking. I think i actually seen a couple brown dots hanging on to my mycelium, what is that?

When you made you LC how much Karo did you add to the water? You can reuse old syringes, I actully still have my orginal syringe from like 2 years ago. Anyway all you have to do is boil some water, pull the syringe apart, and throw them into the water. Let it boil about 10 minutes and then use somthing other then your hands to take them out and put it back together. I use some hotdog tongs, works great.

2teaspoons for 1 1/2 cups of water. Too much karo?

I use a 4% dilution of karo to water. Witch is about 100ml of water to 1 teaspoon, so you actully may have ben a little on the weak side, But that should have still worked. If you have brown dots it *might* be contams, I know I had a LC that started to get grey once.

Hmmm thats really strange. Id say let the LC you go going now grow, and whip up another LC. put 100 Ml of water in, and then a teaspoon of Karo. That always has worked for me. I usally see results within 3days. On the day after innoc, I usally already see little white specs floating in the LC. Good Luck@

Usally I only put in like 4 or 5 drops! It doesnt take much, but 1 cc should be plenty.
