Experimental LC Jars

These are some experimental jars I'm making up for some LC - Karo. It's a 1/2 pint jar, (I at once used it for PF tek, so that's what all the red dots are, from where I have sealed them up) with once 1/2 inch hole in the middle of the lid, covered on both sides with micropore tape, then I have drilled (well used a hot nail) 5 holes in a plastic Miller Light (16 Oz) bottle cap. This cap then was glued (then sealed with sealant) to the underside of the jar lid, centered over the hole. I believe this will help keep the moisture off of the tape, and the tape is there for the purpose of gas exchange. Then I added the tips of some cheap plastic paintbrushes to the underside also, like 2 spikes into the jar. This is for the purpose of helping to stir the LC, by gently swirling I hope to be able to sufficiently break the MYC up and airate. I Have just one designated sealant port.

This is the bottom of the lid. See the bottle cap in the center with holes, and the two paintbrush-swizzle-stick-things, and all the sealed holes too! (Yeah, I didn't feel like buying new lids, I suck, yeah yeah)

well, I have only done 2 of these jars, and added 2 sticks to 2 other jars. I'm gonna PC them tommorrow and see whats up.

Also a quick question. If I took a fresh cap, and stuck it into a sterilized jar in a glovebox, and thus making a sporepring on the bottom of the jar itself. (putting lid on of course). Could you inject some clean water, and agitate it and suck it back up with some spores, and make a good syringe? Just a thought. :mushroom2:

Man thats crazy,I mean good job and all but you really don't need so much over kill,I mean I have made a ton of kick ass LC with nothing but either a baby bottle and a drop of silicone or a half pint jar and a piece of micopore tape,Don't get me wrong I wish I had a bunch of containers that look like space ships but its just not needed,Just cause that looks cool I'm giving you five shrooms for creativity

I've never had a problem with the same jar op is using and a band-aid covering the hole. They do look cool though.
