LC Karo with no coffee filters

Ok, I wanna clone a he-man shroom that I grew, and I was making my LC. I am using KARO and I heated it up per the TEK. In the TEK they strain the water karo blend through a coffee filter into the jars. I do not have any filters here, and I dont want to wait till morning to go get some because I dont want the shroom to go bad on me before I can do the biopsy. Can I just use a paper towel folded over several times? What is the benefit of using a coffee filter and filtering it out in the first place? Thanks for the advise!

Karo is pretty clean anyways. I don't even think most people strain it at all.
I've been using it just mixing it with hot water, and I haven't had any sediment yet. Except for those damn dirty ass marbles I forgot to clean.

No need to filter karo. It's clear, to begin with.
Coffee filters are only DUST covers. Not gas exchange filters. You want a 0.02 micron grade filter, on an LC lid. Small square of tyvek. Held in place with micropore tape. Over a hole in a lid. LC should also have an injection port. Of 1 sort, or another.

Thats the plunger from a syringe on the jar in his pic.
Check the sponsors page. You can order injection ports.
Or use RTV from an auto parts store.
