I mean we "die" every night in deep sleep.... a dead brain and a brain in delta waves don't have that many dissimiliarties, yet somehow we manage to piece ourselves back together in the dream state until we finally wake up and realize what just happened.

I think of death like a giant sleep, then in coming to terms with your inherent nothingness you start gradually forming a new ego in a dream-like way until you attach to it and are bound to a new life.

nice way of thinking of it, but i strongly disagree. i also believe that when you die, youre dead. youre gone. i do have a theory that our memories and thoughts are energy, and so can travel  and stay together even after we die (or also possibly allowing people to travel out of their bodies so to say, or to comunicate with just the minds, etc.), but still most of the time the nergy disperses and goes to do something else. (energy can not be created or distroyed, jsut converted). so technically our thought energy can be relased with body heat or what ever, but not as thought, just as heat.

so in the end, there are small possibilities if you have similar theories, but in the end for msot people i believe we will jsut disapear  we can do nothing but accept it and live our life to the fullest.

I'm realizing that there's actually alot of people who don't go through this thought process of realizing that one day they're going to die. Death is a hard thing to come face to face with, and lots of people try to avoid this by believing some supernatural religious dogma, or whatever else they can come up with that makes them avoid looking straight in the eyes of death.
