Shrooms and vision
    #5252276 -

Terence Kenna's theory on evolution and shrooms stated that the vision and sex drives of ancient peoples were improved after ingesting small amounts of psilocybin mushrooms. In that they could hunt more precisely and breed to a larger extent.

Cooking psilocybin mushrooms destroys the active agent psilocybe(Or whatever is destroyed after heating. All I know is that after heating them, they no longer make you trip, so I read).

I wonder what part of the mushroom is supposed to improve vision or our sex drive. Does this mean we could cook psilocybin mushrooms and benefit from it?

Obviously one wouldn't even have to cook them to eat them in small doses and benefit from them, if that is indeed true, but think of all the recipes people could make with psilocybin mushrooms.

Just a thought

T Mckenna's reference to sex drive and vision has only to do with the psilocybin and psilocin within the mushroom.
Small doses give monkeys erections(and people also become more sexual), and visual acuity is enhanced. Sight becomes almost pixilated, and movement is easier to see(to some extent), unless you eat enough where you would be less capable of seeing a deer running in the thick forest.
Its the psychadelic drug, not anything else that made him want to make such a claim.
