So, what colors DON'T I want my sclerotia to be?

I checked on my ATL#7 rye grass seed jars today, and on the a few of the ones with limited air exchange (innoc hole taped up and no holes for air exchange as opposed to the other jars that have Tyvek and two holes in the lids) well...

there are sclerotia forming all over the place, but on some spots, especially around the edges and wrinkles of the stones, they have turned a very dark brown, almost reddish color. At first it looks straight black. The rest of the stones in the other jars have a nice coffee/creamy color that reminds me a bit of Baily's Irish Cream or something.

This is about 2-3 weeks after full colonization (were innoced 12/21/05) and stones have been forming for almost as long. It was suprisingly quick considering that everything i read told me to expect stones in a few months....

anyways, so I know that this species goes through some interesting color changes but I'd like to know what you guys think.

I'd also like to point out that these jars that have the limited air exchange also have very different looking myc than the tyvek ones. The myc seems to be pressed up smoothly against the glass with few seeds visible, whereas the other jars have the myc pulling away from the glass, like the stones are pushing it back as they form, with all kinds of different fluffy/rhyzo myc, and seeds being all bumpy out of it and stuff.

anyways, I'm sure there's nothing wrong, probably just lack of air, but what do you guys think? Sorry, no pics. you can tell in my poo harvest thread that my cam sucks balls...

It is probably ok. heres a pic of my atlantis on RGS

I also found atlantis to be fast, fater than mexicana A. Try tipping the jars upside down for a few hours to drain the CO2. I think sclerotia needs lots of air exchange, the tops of my jars always do better, it is like the myc forms a seal in the jar blocking the bottom 1/2.
