Manure
    #493382 - 12/16/01 10:56 PM (22 years, 3 months ago)

References for growing on manure anyone? I'm not a rookie, but any
personal advice on the matter would also be much appreciated. Thank you in advance, and by the way, to everybody, I try not to post frequently as personofication of myself amongst this community is not my goal. However, when I do post, I try and ask a question so as to recieve responses that will benifit the entire community. All of you who have spent as many hours in the forums as I have, I believe will appreciate that. I make no claim to being one of the legends who digitally reside here, but I do make all attempts at being a good student.

Manure is my favorite substrate. The "homegrown" stuff is WAY better than the store bought stuff. It is very simple to use. Just patuerize it by baking it, boiling it or nuking it. crumble some cakes in with it----and wait. You can acquire good manure from you local farm or from a few of us here.

Or get your manure from here: Zoo Doo Fresh from zoo cages.

Manure rocks by the way, fruits are beautiful (and huge) when done with manure.

Peace

What about store bought composted steer manure. I have had no luck using it, even when I mix it with straw. I have ad luck with just straw. Why do you think the store bought steer manure doesn't work?

My experience allows me to draw this conclusion. It is usally TOO far composted. Mushrooms are part of the decomposition process. If Decompositions is done, meaning that the composted manure is basically rich dirt, then there is nothing for the mushrooms to do. There for, it is no use to mushroom cultivation.
