The reason for a pressure cooker is to sterilize the things in you substrate and or jars.

By building up pressure in the cooker it allows you to heat far above the point of boiling as much as 260 degree F normally though we go to about 250 degrees F or (15 psi)

If you are using Brown Rice Flour and Verm you can succesfully boil the jars for a period of time and have great success.

No need to lysol your jars on the inside I wipe every thing down (like the outsides of my jars) with lysol.
Good luck on your venture:)

You could still sterilize your jars in boiling water fairly successfully but you can't beat a pc for ease in sterilizing substrate, instruments, jars that had held contaminated cakes, you can even cook in it!
