Fair enough. I was thinking more in terms of the context of my use.

In that case ive done alot of pain pills in the past and I feel the same way about those.

Just because you don't have a problem with something doesn't mean it's not a "hard drug." I've seen coke ruin lives. I've seen Heroin and Oxy ruin people's lives.

I've never seen weed or mushrooms ruin someone's life (although mushrooms did make one of my friends really weird around some people for a few months following the strangest trip I've ever seen someone have)

I dunno man to me susceptability to addictive drugs, and being an addict just makes me feel weak. Ive considered doing a lot of drugs i probably shouldnt have, and ive misused a lot of painkillers (not a lot of times, just a large variety). I guess i liked them experimentally, but if my body ever controls my mind, Id feel like a piece of shit. Actually not if, im trying to quit ciggs and i feel like a bitch b/c they're winning the battle and they dont even get me high, imagine if they did?

I've noticed the same things in "hard" drugs discussions.

I figure peoples opinions often depend on their relative use and association with "hard" drugs. There's a lot of young people on Shroomery. I imagine, in some stereotypical progression of drug use, that "most" of the young people here have only experienced "soft" drugs and likely have a negative opinion of "hard" drugs because of what they hear and see, through whatever medium.

This leads to my only shroomery complaint, an "open-minded" community with a some very "close-minded" populace. This is expected in a rather "close-minded" society. Is that really a complaint about Shroomery or a complaint about society in general?

DUDE, NOT TO MENTION ADDICTIVE DRUGS KILL YOU QUICKLY AND RUIN THIS ORGAN AND THAT BRAIN RECEPTOR AD THIS TYPE OF BLOOD CELL. Us "softcore drug users" dont think any less of you, we even do the same thing by smoking weed, hurt our bodies. We all know every drug has its purpose, but addictive drugs i feel are not worth their therapuetical purpose. Because whether or not theyre awesome which they just might be, what happens when you feel youre over that stage in your life? you body will not quite be. Thats not a good thing.

and who knows, if you guys become susceptible (sorry if i cant spell the word but i sure do love to use it) to these drugs, think of what future drug manufacturers are going to introduce next. anyone else agree with me? or is my inexperience with drugs other than weed and shrooms closing my mind in this convo?

ya, nobody likes a drug snob, i dont hate...but i just dont wanna mess with that snap crackle pop, coz i know in the end it is empty.

"first time you do crack and meth, youre addicted"
i believe this true, while you may never do it again after the first try. i had a stoned revalation, when i found out my gf did coke that the addiction is made with that first choice, even though i bet most wont agree.

that's another thing.

most of the heroin addicts i have met (can't say the same for coke addicts) are some of the nicest, deepest, and most sincere people
i have ever had the privilege to talk with.

everyone's too caught up in the "he does heroin, what a scumbag" shit
that they don't take the time to realize there's a person under
the addiction.

I think a drug is a problem when you lie to close friends about it. I had a buddy hold some coke for me once because I crashed my car and happened to have it in my pocket, he wandered by, took it and left.

When I meet up with him to get it back (he had 10 hits of my acid too, thank god he didn't "lose" those) he told me he accidently put it in the washer in his pants. If he told me he took it and did it I wouldn't have cared, it was like 20 bucks worth and he was doing me a favor. But he lied directly about it, still claims to NEVER have done coke even though I know for a fact he does it (although not often).

yeah, that is shitty.

i can't really say that i have many close friends.
actually i can't think of any close friends i have.

i had one good relationship with a girl... we were just
friends, but i fucked that up.

i told her the truth about everything.
she didn't accept me that way.
so i guess she wasn't a true friend
to begin with.

I definitely agree with Hella here, just because alot of people smoke bud doesn't mean its some super groovy wonder drug..... smoking it regularly can definitely alter the way a person acts.

I've got friends whose day revolves around smoking pot, they wake up , get high, go to class, get high, then get high, then get something to eat, then get high, then fall asleep, then repeat the next day.

The only difference I've noticed between someone who smokes all the time and someone who abuses any other drug is that the people who smoke all the time think they're justified in putting down other drug users.

If people have a question to ask, then it should be answered to the best of our abilities, who are we to pass judgment?

sorry for the sweeping generalizations of potheads,  I'm just speaking from my personal experience

WeAreAllOne I just want to thank you for being really honest in this thread.

I noticed some people mentioned that they rag on other drug users because they've been there themselves, keep in mind that when your coming down on someone you may not have prefaced it with the fact that you HAVE been there, that you ARE speaking from experience, I suggest telling about your experience with that drug and WHY in your opinion it is not your choice drug. I've discussed this at length with my mom even, she would say don't do drugs, I would wonder why, now I know for myself. However, if she had just said, don't do this specific drug because I had this bad experince it probably would have made a difference.

This is something I've practiced with my younger brother, because I knew he was getting into drugs, I've always told him the truth about any drug as I know it, given him all the information that I could find about it and offered to keep an eye on him, if he should choose that he absolutly must do it.

I have also made a pact with him, that if he is always 100% honest with me about his drug use, I will always do my best to protect him and bail him out of trouble if need be. I have had to do both. But he has always been honest. I have also been able to step in if things seemed to be getting out of hand.

This is sort of what I'd like to be able to do in this community, I'd like everyone to be able to feel comfortable, asking questions and asking for help if need be, instead of hearing your a drug addict scumbag or something like that.

Those more familiar with the harder drugs don't always come off in the most articulate manner. Example: OdiumJunkie is a well known junkie, yet he is intelligent and coherent. He is respected (somewhat ) for his ability to use basic syntax and grammar, acts which have become almost an oddity here at the shroomery. I could go on and on listing users who use harder drugs yet are respected.

In my experience, people who ask questions such as "CAN I INJECT OXYCONTIN USING SPORE SYRIGINES INTO ME AND GET HIGH???" are the ones who get flamed, and they are flamed not because of the drug references but more so because of the lack of general intelligence.

i think part of the anger towards hard drug users here comes from the negative attention they bring to the site. i believe we are trying to be a community of inteligent users of psychedelics and like substances. Not a haven for people who are hardcore addicts. this is the shroomery, not the cokery. not that im going to rip on someone for being an addict but i think hard drug addicts pose a security risk. we had a few users who were involved in that shit die, and one who was selling it and sold a lethal dose....i dunno

This is why ODD was formed. So it would separate the "true" psycedelic or "softer" drugs from the "harder" drugs. It is there for information and we should keep it there for the information.....

Although latley I have seen a increase of stupidity there.
