sterilizing syringes

when making a spore syringe from a print, can you fill your syringe with water and put it in the microwave to sterilize the water?this would seem a lot easier than boiling water, sucking boiling water into already sterile syringe, etc.
just fill the syringe up with water and nuke it, will it work? i don't want to waste my prints if not.
oh by the way i will be using distilled water not tap.

tap water is fine. well microwaves tend not to like metal surfaces (the needle) so what you can do, is microwave a large cup of water and then suck and empty and hold like normal :)
and if your needle/syringe is already sterile, and you are using distilled water (again sterile) all you have to do is put water in your syringe....

what if i take the needle part off and sterilize it by placing in a bowl of alchohol?

why dont you just wrap them in foil then PC or boil them? Accualy Im not sure if you can PC them(250 is pretty hot!), but i have Boiled them with sucess, its just as simple.

you can PC them, but be warned - gases expand a lot more than you think (i forget the formulas, it was a chem lab back in my freshman year of college) so that tine little bubble will expand to like 5 ccs, and then you will be left with half empty syringes. so try to get all the air out and PC them needle pointing up in order to not have this happen.

wait, you are telling me you rather go through the trouble of taking every needle off your syringes, cleaning them, then putting everything back together in a sterile environment (glove box, gloves) instead of microwaving a bowl of water and squirting a few times?
