contaminated shiitake log
    #5140335 -

I got a grow log for X-mas and it quickly got coverd in mold. Should I soak it in h2o2 and keep it inside or should I through it outside and where should I put it?

the only time i have seen shiitake logs take on visible mold is in prolonged extreme damp conditions. and even then primarily on older logs that have had a couple seasons to deveolpe sizable competitor colonies.

i would definitely recommend placing the log outdorrs and perhaps off the ground until the mold clears up.

if you received a freshly colonised log i'd be curious to hear what conditions you kept it in fo it to develope mold so quickly.

agreed..take it outside, the log needs natural freash air flow, this will surely cut down on your mold isssue.
