My friend has been useing a regular heating pad under her 20 gal aquarium and it works great. She hasn't tried the aqua heater with the bubbler tek.It seems there are three components that have to be there to have great success and should be prioritized . #1 sterile conditions. #2 proper temp. #3 humidity. She's new at this and still learning. She's had great success just following the simple but proven. Pf tek Hope that helped. Peace .
