I watched ER for the first time a couple weeks ago.  Some lady had a stroke, there was a racist doctor, and some kids came in and used a homeless man as their dad.  Turned out their mother had been dead for a week in the apartment.  Terribly mind-numbing.  Will not watch again.

Never heard of The Oblongs, all others :thumbup:

the oblongs are a cartoon about a family that live in a valley where the big city dumps its toxic waste.

will Farrel plays a dad who has no legs or arms.
He was assaulted by birds in the last show I saw, he was screaming at the kids to save him cause the birds buried him in the backyard.

They, the whole family is fucked and deformed because of the waste,its terribly funny..

IN the same episode the mom with no hair gave up smoking and in exchange gathered to herself another horrible bad habit;n unnecessary risk taking. The whole episode picked on Zena with overt sexual quotations. for example Zena was called vulva. Its all terribly funny.

You don't like E.R, oh well. Maybe watch it one more time, the ones without John Leguizmo, he sucks the insides of condoms.

Have you actually seen the shield? It doesn't exactly glorify the cops. It's one of my favorite shows. I don't get FX anymore so now I just watch it on DVD. Don't spoil any of the new season for me!

yeah saw that one,

that show to me was an exemplary commentation on the different personalities you encounter in a work space.  Take the rascist fuck, remember when he wanted to take everyone out for drinks and none wanted to go?
Well that was an apt description of a real life work space.

I'm with Shroomism on this one. If I'm watching TV it's cartoons, the discovery channel, or a football/hockey game. Everything else is crap.

I've never seen The Shield, but from the commercials I've seen for it, it looks like one of those cop shows where The Good Guy will do whatever he can to get the Fucking Criminals by violating several of their rights.

As somebody who would probably be considered a criminal for some of the lifestyle choices I've made--and been on the receiving end of an officer's shenanigens, I cant support that at all.... Shit like that on TV makes real cops think they can take the law into their own hands.... and it makes joe public think its OK for the cop to do so, as long as they're getting the bad guy.

It's more complicated than that, Gr8ful. True, the protagonist is willing to violate people's rights to get his man, but the show also deals with the consequences of that kind of attitude. He's not always a "sympathetic character," as they say. A number of innocent characters have died because of his actions, and they show that clearly. Some of the cops are blatantly dirty, some are good, many are in the middle somewhere, just like real life.

Shield is a pretty wild show i watch it every so often. Its a pretty good show too. Not your average cop drama.
