Those red mushrooms are Stropharia aurantiaca. Very pretty!

Nice, all this sf action and i have been stuck in reno for the past week. I just went out today and spread out about a gallon of colonized wood chips in this freshly landscaped department store today. I used this fib realative. Hopefully i will only have to drive 2 miles to my favorite picking area next fall.
i will making a trip to the bay this next weekend. This warm weather and now its supposed to cool off will hopefully trigger some more good fruitings. This is turning out to be a decent year in cali.

Workman, A few of these people are from the sacramento area. Maybe i will finaly find someone to go hunting with that actually knows what they are doing.

In S.F. generally speaking do all shrooms bruise blue?

Also, mushrooms are active if their spore prints are black or blue, and if they aren't active they stain white or rust, correct.

I just finished spore prints on four mushrooms, some turning out white, black and rust.

Not all mushrooms bruise blue but mushrooms containing psilocin and psilocybin will bruise blue/green as will other mushrooms that contain neither of the alkaloids mentioned above. Don't use the bruising an indicator if you are not sure what you are looking for.

Psilocybe spore prints tend to be purple/brown, Gymnopilus spore prints tend to be orange and Panaeolus tend to be black.

I should have some good habitat pics of the new species up soon, plus as good of descriptive photos of them that i can do. Im getting a digi tomarrow.

Did anyone notice all the cyanofibs by off the 101 by **Specific location removed by shroomydan** There appeared to be a nice patch of Psilocybe cyanescens over there as well.

Hehe hongo! yaeh i picked a few from there. a couple days ago. i just got a digi cam today so i should have some pics up tonight. We went to the city today and found maybe 300 wet gramms of Cyans!!!!!! We both got like 140g each. Plus i met a girl named Lucy, she had a cool celtic tatto :cool: :wink:
