Yeah, it's hard to tell from those pics. The last one does look pretty close to them though. Did they bruise blue? Was there a ring of thin veil tissue covered with purple spores just under the cap? Like the largest mushroom in this pic:

Well, whatever they are...you still found some mushrooms!

I have to go out for a hunt...we finally got some rain, and I didn't expect to see any mushrooms popping up quite just yet. I think tomorrow I'll go out!

You should post some close up images so that an identification will be possible.

Please take your photographs outside in the proper light so people here can make a proper identification.

The photos you post are impossible to make a correct identification from. You need light to show their proper colors.

Okay, now I have properly identified them as Psilocybe cyanofibrilosa/ Here is a correct image. In ther future please try to take better photographs.

Congradulations on your discovery.

When you're playing with the images in Photoshop, go to image>adjustments>auto levels. Or just hit ctrl+shift+L ... that fixes the colors. If it's still messed up, go to image>adjustments>brightness and contrast and play around with that until the color looks right.

Not likely since the I-5 corridor runs though the center of the state, not along the coast.

Okay, now I have properly identified this as English. Here is the corrected paragraph.

In the 1980's , big collections of this species as well as P. cyanescens were gathered along the I-5 corridor between Eureka and Arcata , Ca.

Not everyone here has knowledge or the time to spend correcting other peoples grammar.
In the future please try to take use a spellcheck or dictionary. .... (sounds kinda harsh doesn't it??)

Sorry, I had to call BS on this no matter who the poster is. People come here for honest help and answers, sometimes answers which could keep them alive. MJ you say an ID is "impossible" yet 6 minutes later you have an ID after you go through the "trouble" of lightening the pic just to throw it in his face. Of course we appreciate all the work that you do MJ, you have contributed a lot of knowledge to the community and that goes a long way, but I don't think that should give you a license to act abusively.
