Cyanescens vs Cyanofibrillosa
    #3604120 - 01/09/05 05:30 PM (13 years, 4 months ago)

When hunting for Cyans,
What are the distinguishing characteristics
which seperate these two varieties?
They appear remarkably similar,
how are they seperated for classification?

Cyanescens vs Cyanofibrillosa

Also, where were Fibs first found.... and by who?

strangeland, we have been patient with you. Do the research. www.mykoweb.com You will develope an eye for them and you will be able to spot a lone 2 inch tall cyan in the grasss from 20 feet away

IME, fibs turn green, are more straw colored, and don't have wavy caps.

Thankyou Peyote Zen, that was very helpful.

Tahoe, that was not very helpful.
If you don't have an answer to my question,
then why even respond?
If you did know the difference between fibs and cyanescens,
then why not share the info so others can learn as well?

He wasnt trying to be mean or rude but you can figure out the differences from pics. Thats what i did. There are some really good cyan pics here as well as cyanofib pics. the answer to your question could have been found very easily on your own with the resources provided. I would believe that getting the info from pics instead of getting it in words would be easier to follow too.

Was it very help full when you PMed me and i told you exactly where to find fib mycelium? Was my link to myko web very helpful??? We are not going to go to your house and pic you up and take you to the mushrooms.
unlike yourself, i did not have the luxury of people here helping me with id's or locations. I am 100% self taught. I did all the reading and research. I have one friend that will actually make the drive to sf to pic. until this year i have never met anyone else that knows how to find cyan's and i have yet to physically hunt with them. When you go through this much to learn about something you must be passionate about it. This is the reason most people are so secretive about it.
Okay, just a little rant.......
