DH, I have the feeling these are very potent little babies, they have been drying to a perfect color (ie not turning totally blue like one would expect from description of this species) so I am thinking the potency loss is not great with these particular specimens. And no, thus far none of my other plantings have fruited for me. I had another patch of these cyanofibrillosas a few years back that was super vigourous and never fruited, the same goes for azurescens I planted out. The only thing I did different this time is about 4 weeks ago I lightly spread about 3, 5 gallon buckets of fresh chips ontop of the patch. The patch was also topdressed this summer with really nice compost which the cyanofibs definetly enjoyed. So basically it kinda seems like the woodchips right before they set pins get them a bit of a moisture bump and perhaps acted much like a casing does for cubies.

I must say I am suprised tho with all the woodchipings I put down there that cyanescens didnt appear. I can only aim for cyanescen naturalization for 2005.

Curious as to how much spawn was used and if it was commercially available or if you cultivated it. I want to get my own patch
going and need help.

Wrecked my car and have been unable to get down to maintain that patch. I am finally gonna make it happen so tomorrow will bring photos of the matured patch. Hope it didnt get to cold and the slugs didnt go to agro on the patch cyanofibs.

I got this spawn from a friend. It is specifically a clone from a fruit that this fellow collected in the wild. It was most likely isolated for vigour a few times as well.

I just received a print of psilocybe cyanofibrillosa that says "toxic, hallucinogen"

Can anyone tell me if it is just my print that may be toxic or if psylocibe cyanofibrillosa is "toxic" (and by this I mean I'm afraid of dying, lol - not the effects of psilocybin or psilocyn)

I'm thinking it may be an error on the supplier website, but . . .

any help would be appreciated - I'm assuming from this thread tho' that the strain isn't toxic in the death kind of way :smile:

Toxic is just a matter of perspective...remember to most people picking a mushroom in the wild, if they start tripping out this is generally not the effect they are going for, therefore you could call them toxic. They wont hurt your physical self...they are mentally toxic. Cyanofibs are potent, not as potent as cyans tho and they lose alot of potency when drying.

Thank you cardboard - this is what I suspected, but I really wanted some (comforting) advice. I've read that they lose about 70% in potency during drying - boo,lol. The site that sold me the print does not list any other psilocybes as toxic, so I became concerned.

I really appreciate your response - I've been trying to get some confirmation for awhile now.
