Food Dehydrator

Has anyone ever tried to disconect the heating element on their food dehydrator. I tried to use my dehydrator on my shrooms and it was too fucking hot. The damn thing turned my shrooms to mush and they dried to a pathetic dark blue black. I think when I wake up in the morning Im going to disect my dehydrator and see if its possible to disconnect the heating element.

I haven't done this......but i have read several posts from people that have disconnected the heating element.
And they were very happy with it.

it's really pretty easy. i would seal it up and throw a bunch of dessicant in the bottom.
