No. They run around 120-130 degrees. A bit too hot for proper drying. This time of the year is great for sun drying mushrooms with the trays from it though. Much faster too! Choose days that aren't as humid and a little breezy. I just set a tray out this morning of some rather large fruits and the whole tray is cracker dry. Goin down the hatch this evening!!!

Hahahaha That's priceless

Answer... NO.... But I do use that same dehydrator and it work great 130 degrees and all
If you can make Tea at 212... then 130 isn't going to do any harm at all.

Not quite! Much bigger difference man. LOL! I've used it and it DOES NOT WORK!!! Properly dried mushrooms in tea are a big difference from drying fresh specimens at 130 degrees, much less 212.

130 is fine for drying. It only dries em a few hours quicker than no heat drying though. In my experience, sun drying causes blueing, so that is probally an indication of psilo break down.

Many people take apart their dehydrators and disconnect the heating element if you are worried about it. I am sure it would be really easy to do.

Well put a thermometer outside on the tray next to those sun dried shrooms and tell me which gets hotter. Just remember, you cant cook an egg at 130 but you sure can cook one outside in the sun

Sun drying is fine. Don't sun dry during 90+ RH's and you'll be fine. These were done in 13 hours, cracker dry! And trust me! Potent as hell! 130 is far too high. Please don't post unless you know from experiences about what your posting. You can get a newb's or one of the other 1000 people that saw this post to ruin their hard work.

If one of you guys that don't believe me would like to try it out on their own crop! Go set your oven to 130 degrees to preheat. Then pop in YOUR fungus to see what happens. Get back to me later with your results. Actually, don't bother. I already know what the results will be.

Guess again my friend... been doing it for years.
without any problems at all... not in a oven but on various dehydrators at full temp.
I've also cooked em on Pizza at 350 with NO loss.

Go figure

you can use dried mush in tea, add to melted chocolate, pizza, or whatever.
just remember more heat = more oxidization of the good stuff.

if you want to preserve em, same thim applyz. :smirk:

Don't see much of that often.

I think potency might vary a bit, but not enough to care about IMO.
